Jack Welbourne Ceramics
Cardiff-based potter Jack Welbourne creates ceramics in his studio, which is in a courtyard that is home to many makers. He studied pottery in Plymouth and has now been making pieces for 12 years. He hand-throws his pieces and creates patterns through wax-resist methods, each varying slightly in shape and pattern.

Based in Cardiff, Jack creates this weighty jug in his studio, which is in a courtyard that is home to many makers. He studied pottery in Plymouth and has now been making pieces for 12 years. Hand-thrown from iron-bearing clay, with a pulled handle. Finished with a tenmoku glaze with wave markings. Each varies slightly in shape, pattern and glaze tone from brown to black.

Each ceramic piece has been thrown or pressed and glazed by hand. Due to the handmade nature, there may be pleasing variations and irregularities in colour, size and shape.
