In our series Community Threads, we bring together the creative individuals who make up our TOAST shop teams and explore the ways in which they thoughtfully style pieces from our new collections.

Our latest instalment takes us to Cheltenham, a charming spa town located on the edge of the Cotswolds. The TOAST shop sits among independent eateries and artisan market stalls along the central Promenade, a leafy avenue lined with Regency-era architecture.

Flo

Flo has been working at our Cheltenham shop since the spring. This month, she is reading Circe by Madeline Miller, a retelling of Greek mythology centred on female self-discovery, and listening to Rumours by Fleetwood Mac. “I’ve finally started paying attention to my father’s music recommendations!”

Flo wears the TOAST Pintuck Sleepy Stripe Dress.

Sarah

A Cheltenham team member for seven years, Sarah also enjoys listening to legendary musicians. “I spend most of my time in silence with occasional loud blasts from Led Zeppelin.” She is currently reading two books: Sea of Poppies by Amitav Ghosh and Witches Abroad by Terry Pratchett. The latter is a comfort read she returns to often.

Sarah wears the TOAST Stitch Argyle Vest and Cotton Wrap Straight Skirt.

Nick

Nick has been working at TOAST for six years, since 2019. She has been enjoying time away from screens recently. “My evenings are spent in the garden, especially with the amazing weather.” While enjoying the last of the sun, she has been reading The Secret History by Donna Tartt and listening to soul music – sometimes accompanied by “a little glass of something.”

Nick wears the TOAST Cotton Linen Wrap Jacket, Lia Garment Dyed Boat Neck Tee and Corinne Cotton Linen Wide Leg Trousers.

Nicole

Nicole has been working at TOAST since November last year. When she’s not welcoming customers to our Cheltenham shop, Nicole has similarly been savouring time outdoors. “My chickens and garden keep me outside until it’s dark. I love being in nature and listening to the birds at this time of year.” She has just finished the final novel in Pat Barker’s The Women of Troy trilogy.

Nicole wears the TOAST Patchwork Kantha Stitch Cotton Waistcoat and Cotton Canvas Pleat Front Trousers

I love the Cheltenham shop . I find Nick an inspiration , she is so nice & friendly. I often end up buying what she is wearing. When the Cheltenham shop was closed I hardly bought anything from Toast . The experience of shopping there is great .

Just love seeing these ‘real people’ styling beautiful Toast clothes! They honestly look nicer than the website models and their stories are always interesting- would love to see more.

Love these outfits and so helpful to see them worn on a variety of bodies. I’ve visited a few Toast shops around the UK over the years, and I get the impression that Toast must be a great company in which to work because the staff always seem so interesting, warm, honest, welcoming and helpful. It must be that either that they are drawn to the Toast ethos, or that the Toast ethos becomes part of their work ethic.🙂

The staff at Toast, Cheltenham are absolutely wonderful. Their customer service is better than any other shop I know and they are just so friendly. So nice to see them here.

Great photos of a fabulous group of women. New season stock looks lovely. It’s always a joy popping in to see them and discovering what’s in store.
