This one-of-a-kind tabard has been created by London-based fashion designer and artist Bethany Williams for TOAST Renewed, constructed from two backs from trench coats from the TOAST archive. It features straps from the original trench fabric for the neckline and crocheted side seams by Alice Evans. The sides are both fully open and have ties which can wrap around the front and back.

“The front is hand screen-printed by Holly at Orto Print Studio with my original artwork Open Heart,” says Bethany. “The artwork is about allowing your heart to open after a period of darkness, and having the courage and faith to begin again without knowing what the outcome will be. The image shows a woman beside a standing stone, with ancient stones and winter bracken creating the deep red tones.”
