Ambrose Vevers
A curation of made to order items, created by Ambrose Vevers from his workshop in South Devon. Employing traditional craft methods, some of which are hundreds of years old, Ambrose produces refined yet practical pieces for the home and kitchen.
Hand shaped, scorched British ash. Oak bark-tanned leather loop at one side for hanging and storing, held in place by an English oak peg dowel. Made by hand in Devon by woodworker Ambrose Vevers using traditional carpentry skills. Predominantly using ash, cherry, oak and walnut, and scorched using the Japanese Shou Sugi Ban technique, Ambrose works into each of his pieces patiently by hand. He sources his timber locally from nearby woodlands, or, more often than not, it is felled and coppiced from the same very land he lives and works on. Ambrose was one of the New Makers that TOAST supported throughout 2020, and each piece will be made to order.
