For Autumn/Winter ’17 we celebrated books and the ways they have enriched our lives. We ran a book sharing campaign both online and in our shops and were overwhelmed by the richness of the response. Thank you for taking part!
In each of our eleven shops there were shelves filled with books left by customers and staff. Inside each book were hand written notes, explaining how the book had enriched the sharer – the notes were heartfelt, sensitive and a joy to read. Thank you for sharing!
The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood was a window into a world I didn't know...” Aoife
We spoke to authors about the books that have enriched them
5 Authors, 10 Questions
Dan Pearson | Garden Designer & Writer
Bettany Hughes | Historian, Author & Broadcaster
We invited you to join the conversation online and to tell us about a book that had enriched you. We received such varied and moving replies – from novels that had been a guide through difficult times to cookery books that had provided huge inspiration. Each comment was entered into a prize draw, and Aoife who chose The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood, won £500 worth of TOAST product and a year’s subscription to Persephone Books.
