Jynsym Ong set up her own independent pottery studio in Oxford after returning from a ceramics apprenticeship in Japan.

Inspired by traditional Japanese yunomi teacups, Jynsym throws the cup on the wheel in a dark clay to a straight shape with a footed base. It's then dipped in a white slip before a kohiki glaze is added, then reduction fired.

Being handmade, each varies in colour and form.
